This project was first conceptualised during the declared pandemic where the majority of small businesses suffered; being prevented from opening. At this time there was also difficulty accessing physical council meetings, although there were online meetings where we felt there was less accountability and technical difficulties were sometimes experienced. The project idea was reinvigorated after seeing the wonderful work of Colchester Council Watch along with other projects helping regional and local authority make better decisions with their policies and goals.
